The making of UPAGE website started in 2001 during the visit by Singapore Power Management team lead by Mr Quek Poh Huat who suggested the idea which the union accepted willingly. Mr Quek Poh Huat agreed without any hesitation that Singapore Power will incur all expenses pertaining to the setting up and maintenance of the union website. The union has only need to maintain and update it.

UPAGE President Abdul Rahman Mahbob in his opening address commented SP Management and Mr Quek Poh Huat for the gesture as the website will open up and improve the existing communication with members. He highlighted that the creation of the website will bring the union more closer to the member.

Mr Quek Poh Huat in his address affirmed the close working relationship that the SP management has with UPAGE. He highlighted the union’s assistance and co-operation during the period of deregulation and liberalization of the power and gas industries.
